  1. SAM Driver for the Papenmeier BRAILLEX Devices

  3. This is a fully functional SAM driver for use with a software driven Papenmeier BRAILLEX refreshable Braille display.

  5. This driver uses the WIN32 Comms API to talk to the Braille display so will work in Windows 95 and NT, there is no 16-bit code.

  7. Please report any bugs to Papenmeier. If it crashes please tell us the crash address and registers etc, from the crash message box, also report the driver version number (check with explorer - file properties).

  24. Key assignments
  25. The following lists the default keys to press for each Braille operation.
  26. As the different BRAILLEX devices have different key configurations, the keys for each display type are listed separately.

  29. Please note that this default assignment only works if both the left and right switch are in central (neutral) position (exception: scrolling the display character by character, see last 2 functions).

  32. Read forwards: EAB one step right
  33. Scroll display one line up: EAB one step up
  34. Scroll display one line down: EAB one step down
  35. Move display to left edge of window: EAB two steps left

  38. Move display to bottom left of window: EAB two steps down
  39. Toggle showing the cursor (caret) position: Left key front
  40. Switch between six dot and eight dot Braille: Left key front + EAB two steps left
